Upon admission to a training school, for all levels of Medical Laboratory Sciences, we require students to submit an application for Indexing within 30 days following commencement of training.
The Board through indexing verifies submissions to ensure that students admitted to training schools meet the admission criteria for their program of choice. Once verification is completed, the Board assigns an ”Index Number” which is a unique reference that will remain your identification throughout training and practice.
The KMLTTB offers examination in three levels:
- Degree (BSc. Medical Laboratory Sciences)
The Board requires exam applicants to fulfill specific requirements to do Board Exams. Candidates are typically required to fill a Board Examination Application Form and attach the relevant documents, which must be reviewed for conformity.
The examinations are done twice every year. In the months of February and September unless decided otherwise by the Board for unavoidable reasons.
The following subjects are examinable:
- Medical microbiology
- Clinical Chemistry
- Blood transfusion
- Medical Parasitology/Entomology
- Practicals covering the 6 subject areas
The Board registers professionals in two categories:
- Laboratories &
- Technologists- Degree, Higher Diploma & Diploma Holders
- Technicians-Certificate holders and others
The Board Registers Medical laboratories in 6 Classes both private and public:
